While customer satisfaction surveys are imperative for finding out how you can improve a consumer's experience with your brand, it doesn't take one to know that your business should be living up to high standards of health and safety.
This can be particularly essential for companies operating in the food industry, such as supermarkets, cafes, markets and restaurants.
If your company is perceived as lacking when it comes to the health and safety of your produce, you are likely to lose customers.
Why health and safety matters to your company and consumers
One example of how much health and safety can impact your business is evident in recent research from Roy Morgan. On October 18, the market research giant revealed that food safety at supermarkets is more important to Australian grocery buyers than proximity to home, good value, trading hours or the quality and range of fresh fruits and vegetables.
A total of 57 per cent of grocery buyers aged 14 and above said food safety standards were a very important factor when deciding where to shop.
Hygienically prepared food and a clean and tidy environment were ranked as very important by 53 per cent of shoppers.
Have you taken stock of your establishment's tidiness lately? Based on these results, it might pay to give everything a spring clean, especially with the Christmas season quickly approaching.
Maybe remind staff to make food hygiene a priority, even while the weather's getting warm and everyone is starting to feel more relaxed. You could even hold a workshop to help staff brush up on their skills.
Ensure the entirety of your store is well presented, clean and tidy, something that is bound to make it more appealing to any customer.
A business committed to looking bright, sparkling clean and welcoming does wonders for itself.
